Purpose of Gitanmaax Community Grant: ​
 The Gitanmaax Community Grant Program provides funding for Projects that support athletic or artistic achievement, promote the Gitxsan language and culture, and foster a sense of community for Gitanmaax Members. ​ Grants are available for individuals, groups, and organizations, with a maximum allocation of $500 per individual per year and $1,000 per group or organization per year. ​ Artists can receive a maximum allocation of $1,000 per year. ​​ Applications are evaluated based on alignment with the Grant's purpose, community impact, and feasibility. ​ The program is funded through own source revenues and is subject to budgetary restrictions. ​
The purpose of the Gitanmaax Community Grants is to celebrate and contribute to individual and community-led Projects that enable athletic or artistic achievement, promote the Gitxsan language and culture, and nurture a sense of community for Gitanmaax Members. ​

The maximum allocation for Grants is $500 per individual per year and $1,000 per group or organization per year. ​ Artists can receive a maximum allocation of $1,000 per year. ​​
Grants are available for sports and recreation, arts, language, and culture, community events, and elder and youth-led Projects. ​
Projects that do not fall within the fiscal year (April 1st to March 31st) are not eligible for a Grant. ​
Projects currently executed by the Gitanmaax Band, services funded by other entities, and personal Projects with no community impact will not receive a Grant. ​
Gitanmaax Members, groups or organizations (including sports teams and not-for-profits), elder groups, and youth groups are eligible to apply. ​
Registered charities, political parties, religious groups, and individuals in need of financial assistance outside the scope of the Grant types are not eligible to apply. ​
Applications are evaluated based on alignment with the Grant's purpose, community impact, feasibility, and financial need. ​
Approved applications will be sent to Finance for processing on Thursdays. ​
Successful Applicants are required to provide photos and a short description of the outcome of the Project within two weeks of its end date. ​
The Gitanmaax Band Council retains the right to request a budget in advance of a Grant allocation or a summary of expenses and receipts following the completion of a Project. ​
Artists retain all copyright related to any intellectual property supported by the Grant.
How to apply:

Fill out the Gitanmaax Community Grant Application Form, providing information about the applicant, type of Grant, project details, project budget, and agreement to the terms and conditions. ​
Submit the completed application form to the Gitanmaax Band. ​
Applications are reviewed based on alignment with the Grant's purpose, community impact, and feasibility. ​
Payments are processed on a weekly basis on Fridays, and approved applications will be sent to Finance for processing no later than 12:00 pm on Thursdays.
To submit an application for the Gitanmaax Community Grant, follow these steps: ​
Fill out the Gitanmaax Community Grant Application Form, which can be found in Appendix 1 of the document. ​
Provide your personal information, including your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
Indicate whether you are a Gitanmaax Member, Elder, or Youth. ​
If you are applying on behalf of a group or organization, including Sports Teams, provide a description of your purpose, goals, role, and a list of your members. ​
If you are applying as an Artist, describe your work and prior artistic experience. ​
Choose the type of grant you are applying for: Sports and Recreation, Arts, Language, and Culture, Community Events, or Elder and Youth-led Projects. ​
Provide details about your project, including the project name, start and end dates, a brief project description, and how it aligns with the purpose of the Gitanmaax Community Grant. ​
Describe the community impact of your project and how it will benefit the Gitxsan Nation and its Members. ​
If you are applying for Youth travel under Sports and Recreation or Arts, Language, and Culture, explain how the grant will support your athletic or artistic goals. ​
Create a project budget, including the total project budget and the amount requested from the grant. ​
Describe the financial need for the grant and whether you have fundraised or will be contributing your own financial resources. ​
If your project includes a ticket or fee, explain what aspect of the event the grant will support. ​
Read and agree to the terms and conditions of the grant, including providing photos and a description of the project outcome, displaying the Gitanmaax Band Council's logo, and allowing the publication of project information. ​
Sign and date the application form.
Submit the completed application form to the Gitanmaax Band for review.​
